The Markay Cultural Arts Center is more than a historic theater—it’s the heart of a thriving arts community, proudly operated by the Southern Hills Arts Council (SHAC). Since 1980, SHAC has worked to preserve and promote the arts across our region. From producing live theater and music to hosting art shows, workshops, and educational programs, our mission has always been to connect people through creativity. The restoration and reopening of the Markay is one of our proudest achievements—a space where local talent shines alongside nationally recognized artists, and where everyone is invited to experience the magic of the arts.
